Modernising primary health systems via innovations in immunisation is a crucial – and inspiring! – topic, which is why we’re delighted to be reporting back after KLIC 2024 this month.

Our Solar International Commercial Lead Catherine McLennan travelled to Benin for the event, which Dulas proudly sponsored. It was only the second event of its kind, with the first launching last year with just 70 guests, but is going from strength to strength, bringing together Ministries of Health from Africa and Asia to discuss how best to overcome obstacles to immunisation equity.

At the event, Dulas showcased the VC150SDD Solar Direct Drive combined refrigerator / freezer. This is an ideal solution in many ways for those communities without easy access to power, thanks to its inbuilt icepack capacity, which enables further outreach programmes at a local level. The VC150SDD has been independently verified to deliver 4 x 0.6L fully frozen water packs each day (2.4kg of ice), even at +43C ambient, making it easier to plan these outreach activities.

As part of Catherine’s visit to Benin, Dulas was delighted to be donating one of these refrigerators to the Beninese Expanded Programme of Immunisation (EPI) at KLIC – just one of the ways we place importance on the support of and collaboration with our overseas partners.

After the event, Catherine’s travels continued onwards, with a road trip to Togo and then across to Guinea to meet the respective local Ministries of Health. A busy time for our Solar International team!
