Our locations

Machynlleth, Wales

Headquarters

Machynlleth, Wales

Known as the ancient capital of Wales, Machynlleth is a characterful market town set within beautiful countryside. It’s home to a rich tapestry of arts, culture and local business, as well as being a recognised centre for sustainable living.

Transport to Machynlleth is best by road or train. The train station is set within easy walking distance of our office. The main roads in are the A489, which runs from Shropshire to Machynlleth, and the A487 running up the west coast from Haverfordwest in the south, to Bangor in the north.

Inverness, Scotland

Inverness, Scotland

Set firmly in the Scottish Highlands, Inverness was granted city status in 2000. Its name means ‘mouth of the River Ness’, and its best-known water feature is nearby Loch Ness (complete with monster!) from which the river flows. Inverness also boasts its own castle and cathedral.

Set almost at the top of the UK, Inverness has its own airport offering regular flights to other UK airports, along with straightforward train links to all other parts of Scotland and the UK. The A9 is the main road into Inverness, and it takes about 3 hours to drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Inverness.

Remote Working

Remote Working

In recognition of the evolving nature of work and the increasing importance of flexibility, we understand that remote working can offer numerous benefits to both employees and Dulas as a whole. Therefore, we are committed to providing opportunities for eligible employees to partially work remotely when feasible and appropriate.

We believe that embracing remote work opportunities will enhance employee satisfaction productivity, and overall well-being.

A cooperative and proud of it!

We are a Worker Cooperative. Our members elect the Board of Directors, attend business meetings and vote on resolutions.

All employees are offered membership after 18 months of employment. Prior to that, everyone has a voice and is entitled to information.

“I joined Dulas after many years in a large international consulting company, wanting to be part of a smaller, renewables focussed business in a beautiful part of the UK. I have found that Dulas is a company with an ethical and inclusive culture where everyone can have a say and have influence over important decisions. This part of Wales is certainly very beautiful – it offers world class outdoor activities and is not as wet as I expected!”

Andy Skipton-Carter, Commercial Lead, Consultancy

“It’s fantastic knowing that our work is having a positive impact on the environment and people’s lives. My role as an Account Manager for the Solar International team is both exciting and challenging; working together with technicians in-country, humanitarian organisations and key stakeholders around the globe. Our people focused and flexible work environment has not only given me the opportunity to develop my own skills, but the support to fit my career around my growing family.”

Betty Freeman, Account Manager, Dulas Solar International

Staff benefits

As a Dulas employee, you will be eligible to join the private healthcare insurance scheme that the company provides for its employees once you have successfully completed your probationary period.

From your first day, you’ll be entitled to the first week of sick leave at full pay, followed by the second week at half pay. Entitlement increases based on length of employment, up to 26 weeks at full pay followed by 26 weeks at half pay, after five years of employment. The scheme is based on a 12-month rolling period.

Offering a range of benefits to support you in everyday life, including face-to-face, telephone or online counselling, and expert support on both personal and work-related issues.

Like a safety net, the scheme would pay out a cash lump sum of 4 x your annual salary, tax free, to your relatives if you were to pass away while covered by the policy.

Ensures you can continue to meet your financial commitments if you are forced to take an extended break from work due to illness.

If you are required to use a computer or VDU at work, you will be entitled to an eye test every two years, and the company will reimburse you for the test and also contribute towards glasses if required.

Help and support provided when an employee is struggling with their physical or mental health; make the right reasonable adjustments for disabled people at work; when an employee has been off sick for a long time or is returning to work after sickness absence.

We offer employees a cycle-to-work scheme, as a salary sacrifice scheme. Our employees embracing this scheme have generally experienced a happier demeanour, healthier lifestyle, improved mental wellbeing, a ready-to-work attitude, effective working and punctual attendance.

We offer our employees up to 50% of their contracted hours working from home for those roles where it is possible. It allows flexibility and a good work life balance.

33 days per year which includes bank holidays.

Weeks 1-18 at full pay; weeks 19-26 the level of SMP will be enhanced to ensure half pay; weeks 27-39, you will receive SMP; weeks 40-52 will be unpaid.

Professional membership subscriptions payment.
