Dulas has a 30-year history of designing and installing battery energy storage systems (BESS), both in the UK and abroad. We fully understand the complexities and requirements when it comes to designing a successful battery installation. Effective control of the battery storage system is the key to getting the most out of the investment. How this is best achieved will vary for each individual situation. Dulas’s highly skilled staff hold the technical knowledge to understand each site’s specific needs, then design and install a renewable energy storage solution that suits the site – along with an intelligent control system. Battery storage systems allow the power from on-site renewable energy installations to be used when appropriate. Combining this with charging the battery from the grid can result in significant savings, or generating revenue from grid services, such as Enhanced Frequency Response (EFR) or Firm Frequency Response (FFR).
In locations where the grid infrastructure is weak then a BESS can help to balance the strain on the grid by providing peak demand shaving or load shedding. More recently we have applied our wealth of experience to developing a containerised battery and EV charger solution for exactly these situations, assisting our clients to accommodate the increasing requirement for EV and e-bike charging on site. This reduces grid electricity consumption during busy periods by supplying stored energy from the battery.
