Since 2010, Dulas has been part of the UN Global Compact Network UK, a group of organisations worldwide that work together to actively promote the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a part of our UN Global Compact Network UK membership, we report on how we are playing our part in achieving the SDGs every year, but we also help to show our support of the SDG initiative by celebrating Goals Week and Flag Day every September. In 2023, over 1500 organisations, including NGOs, government bodies, civil societies, and private companies – including Dulas – raised the SDG flag, and we hope to see many more joining us in 2024 and beyond.

At Dulas, as well as raising awareness of the Global Goals and encouraging organisations all over the world to join in, we are also strengthening our relationship with the UN Global Compact Network UK this SDG Flag Day, as our MD, Ruth Chapman, has recently been appointed as a Trustee of UN Global Compact Network UK!

Global Goals Week 2024

The UN’s SDGs are a group of 17 different goals that UN Global Compact Network UK member organisations are collectively working towards. These goals provide a framework to help us play our part in combatting major global challenges including climate change, gender inequality, poverty, and labour conditions.

  • Good Health and Wellbeing
For decades, the Dulas Life Sciences division has been working across the globe to help promote good health and well-being in some of the world’s most remote communities. Our solar powered vaccine refrigerators help bring healthcare to the last mile and support communities that otherwise would not have access to life-saving vaccinations.

  • Affordable and Clean Energy
The Dulas Renewables team are passionate about the potential for affordable and clean energy. We work with a wide range of clients to help promote renewable energy infrastructure and support clean energy projects all over the UK, including onshore and offshore wind, hydroelectric and solar PV projects. Our goal is to enable our clients to produce more renewable energy, securing affordable and clean energy for the future.

  • Responsible Consumption and Production
As an organisation specialising in renewable energy solutions we’re always working to improve our own responsible consumption and production practices, as well as continually developing solutions to also help our clients reduce their reliance on fossil fuels. For example, our DuraSource remote power systems that provide robust power for applications that would have traditionally used petrol or diesel-fuelled generators, and we do it without compromising on safety, durability, or reliability.

Leading the UN Global Compact Network UK

Solidifying our relationship with the UN Global Compact Network UK, we are delighted to announce that Ruth Chapman, our MD, has recently been appointed as a new Trustee of the UN Global Compact Network UK.

The appointment was voted on by UN Global Compact Network UK members, and in her role, Ruth will help to guide the strategic direction of the organisation, driving forward sustainable development and business practices in the UK, including the progression of the SDGs. Ruth comments:

“People, Purpose, and Planet are our core drivers and values at Dulas, and the UN Global Compact Network UK has been a fantastic source of support to help us champion these values every day.

I’m honoured to be appointed as a Trustee of the UN Global Compact Network UK and look forward to playing a part in supporting the organisation to achieve its ambitions. The UN Global Compact Network UK’s work is fantastic in helping companies to make progress towards embedding the Sustainable Development Goals, inspiring action for organisations, an ultimately making business a force for good.”
