Dulas has joined the ‘United Nations Race to Zero Campaign’ and pledged to start the journey to becoming net zero. The ‘Race to Zero’ campaign is a global initiative intended to mobilise those outside of national government to take their own steps towards carbon zero. The objective is to send governments a resounding signal that business, cities, regions and investors are united in meeting the Paris goals and creating a more inclusive and resilient decarbonised economy.
Joining the scheme means that as a company we have made the following solemn commitment:
Recognising that climate change poses a threat to the economy, nature and society-at-large, our company commits to take action immediately in order to:
- Halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
- Achieve net zero emissions before 2050
- Disclose our progress on a yearly basis
Having made this public pledge we now need to start measuring, planning and acting. We are currently working on our Net Zero Statement which will set out our intentions and as part of our obligations we will be reporting annually on our progress.
MD Ruth Chapman comments: ‘We are proud to be recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, and join governments, businesses, cities, regions, and universities around the world that share the same mission. Our roots in developing humanitarian technology mean that this is something we feel very strongly about and will commit ourselves to fully.’
Business Development Manager, Donald Speirs echoed this: ‘The time to act is now. No matter how small your business or what industry you’re in, your commitment could make a real difference and we all have to take responsibility for doing our bit. It is the duty of every company is to make a similar net zero pledge and to start a process of measurement and evaluation of their current position on emissions.’
