During the development process, we work with the client directly to produce a tailored site specification, and this individualised approach ensures that Dulas can provide projects that maximise availability whilst minimising cost and environmental impact. We install hydropower projects that are designed to provide maximum generation, and therefore revenue for our clients, with very low overheads that stand the test of time.
We offer a wholesale approach and can play an initial consultancy and advisory role as well as provide installation and maintenance services. From the very outset, we ensure that the proposed projects satisfy all the necessary environmental and water quality criteria and will meet all wider planning obligations. Once we have designed a project, we can also act as the principal contractor for construction and installation, and we can prepare full civil, mechanical, and electrical design packages. Dulas have designed or developed more than 35 small hydro power schemes for clients across the UK, totalling more than 8MW, since our first scheme was completed at Cwm Prysor in North Wales in 1982. We offer full feasibility, development and planning services for hydro schemes in the UK and Internationally with our overseas partners.
Ranging from planning and feasibility studies to intake design and subcontractor selection, our hydro design and installation services have been used on projects from 100kW to over 3MW in power output.
