Project Overview

Dulas is currently working with its Nigerian partner Fenlab to deliver 199 of its VC150SDD combined Solar Vaccine Refrigerator/Freezers to Kaduna State. The Immunisation programme is coordinated by the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency and supported by worldwide NGOs.

Nigeria is often referred to as the “Giant of Africa”, owing to its large population and economy, and it is the most populous country in Africa; however insecurity and a poor transport infrastructure are all key challenges in combating childhood preventable diseases, particularly in remote areas.

In order to ensure effective vaccination programmes, vaccines must be transported and stored within the correct temperature range of +2°C to +8°C and with an extended ambient operating temperature range of +5°C to +43°C, the VC150SDD provides stand-alone reliable vaccine storage, independent of grid power.

The refrigerators are being distributed to various Health Centres in very remote areas and will be installed by
Fenlab across all five regions of Nigeria.

At Dulas, we’re committed not only to supplying vital cold chain equipment but also to ensuring that necessary training is provided to support the project”

Training Overview

As part of the initiative Dulas and Fenlab provided training to Ministry of Health staff to ensure the refrigerators will be properly operated and maintained into the future. The training was delivered over 2 days in Abuja, with 30 members of staff of the Ministry of Health in attendance.

A Dulas VC150SDD was provided at the training venue which enabled all delegates to have a good introduction
to the product, its key components, and its solar system.
