Tilt-up lattice met masts

Tilt-up lattice met masts for wind monitoring up to 120m

Game changing product delivering cheaper, faster and safer wind monitoring data.

Our tilt-up lattice met mast is a smarter, safer solution for wind monitoring and wind measurement on modern wind energy projects. Assembled entirely at ground level, it removes the need for working at height during installation, improving safety, speed and efficiency compared with traditional build-up lattice masts. Once raised, the mast can be climbed and maintained without lowering the structure, while its 120m height capability helps wind developers capture the high-quality hub height wind data needed for accurate site assessment, helping our clients to de-risk the financial returns on their prospective projects

To bring this advanced wind monitoring mast to the UK, Dulas has partnered with Double K, combining proven lattice tower manufacturing expertise with Dulas’ long-standing experience in wind monitoring and the specific competencies required to safely install and maintain met masts in the UK.

Fully compliant with IEC 61400-12-1:2017 and MEASNET standards, the Double K mast provides wind developers with a robust, reliable long-term met mast solution for accurate wind data collection.

Frequently asked questions

What is a tilt-up lattice met mast?2026-06-11T12:24:47+00:00

A tilt-up lattice met mast is a wind monitoring mast that is assembled at ground level and then raised into position using a winch and gin poles. It is designed to support accurate meteorological data collection while improving installation safety and efficiency.

What type of site is this met mast suitable for?2026-06-11T12:25:13+00:00

The mast needs to be laid out flat to the Northeast of the mast base, so you will need in excess of 120 meters of relatively flat clear ground, with no snag hazards for the guy wires during the lift. For this reason, clear fell sites are not suitable.

Despite the site limitations we highly recommend flexibility when choosing the mast base location as the Tilt-Up Lattice mast costs considerably less and can be installed significantly quicker than its Build-Up counterpart.

What height met masts are available?2026-06-11T12:25:39+00:00

Dulas tilt-up lattice met masts can be supplied at any heights up to 120m. Our standard product range covers 100m, 110m and 120m.

Why is a tilt-up mast safer to install?2026-06-11T12:26:03+00:00

Because the mast is assembled on the ground, there is no need for working at height during the build. This makes installation safer and more efficient than traditional build-up lattice mast methods.

How is the mast maintained after installation?2026-06-11T12:26:33+00:00

Once raised, the mast is inspected bi-annually from ground level. We can carry out climbing maintenance visits and instrument swaps without lowering the structure, which helps to support long-term wind monitoring projects and ensures continuity of data.

Does the mast meet recognised industry standards?2026-06-11T12:26:58+00:00

Yes. The Double K mast is fully compliant with IEC 61400-12-1:2017 and MEASNET standards, supporting reliable wind data collection for site assessment and project development. It also has CE Marking.
