Engineered for the long term

A new chapter, rooted in experience

In life sciences, the environments that matter most are rarely shaped by sudden shifts. They’re the result of careful decisions, engineering discipline and a long view, built steadily over time, refined through use, and trusted because they last.

That thinking has long underpinned Dulas Life Sciences. It’s also central to the work of LMS, a specialist manufacturer with more than six decades of experience in laboratory cooling and incubation. With LMS now part of the Dulas Life Sciences group, a shared approach to engineering, manufacturing and long-term performance comes into clearer focus.

LMS: a long-standing presence in laboratory cooling

LMS brings over 60 years of heritage in the design and manufacture of scientific incubation and cooling equipment. Its systems are used globally across a wide range of bio-scientific applications, including tissue and fruit fly culture, enzyme testing and seed storage: environments where accuracy, consistency and reliability are essential.

Known for durability, longevity and bespoke design, LMS systems are engineered to perform across demanding operating temperature ranges, from -10°C to +50°C. Manufactured in the UK at Dulas’ own facilities, LMS equipment benefits from in-house engineering expertise, enabling custom builds and flexibility to meet highly specific laboratory requirements. A wide range of models, sizes and materials allows solutions to be tailored precisely, supporting laboratories with dependable temperature control over many years of use.

A shared approach to engineering

Although Dulas and LMS formally became one organisation through acquisition in 2024, they had worked closely together for years prior, sharing a manufacturing relationship rooted in mutual respect for quality and precision.

Both organisations are engineering-led, focused on designing solutions that perform reliably over the long term rather than responding to short-term trends. By bringing teams closer together across design, manufacturing and support, this relationship strengthens capability while retaining the specialist focus and working practices that LMS is known for.

Support that extends beyond the product

For laboratories and end users, continuity remains central. LMS retains its bespoke approach, manufacturing flexibility and commitment to long-term reliability, now supported by broader engineering expertise and closer collaboration across teams.

This enables deeper product development and strengthens service and support, while preserving the qualities customers already rely on. The focus is on extending capability and expertise, without disrupting established performance.

Cooperative-led growth, looking ahead

As a cooperative, Dulas’ growth is guided by its members. Decisions around acquisition and brand alignment reflect a shared belief in values-led expansion and long-term investment.

As LMS becomes more closely identified with Dulas Life Sciences, its visual identity evolves to reflect that shared foundation. The engineering expertise, manufacturing capability and specialist intent remain unchanged.

Looking ahead, Dulas Life Sciences will continue to share insight into the thinking and expertise behind the environments it supports, with the same emphasis on quality, continuity and considered design.
