The last few months have seen change for the whole country, with all of us abruptly adopting new working habits in line with COVID-19 restrictions. The emergence of Coronavirus has been challenging to all industries and like many other companies, Dulas has had to quickly adapt to rapid change. We’ve followed Government guidance to protect both staff and clients, but this has unavoidably decreased our capacity to work on as many projects as we normally would. We would like to thank all our clients for your patience throughout the last couple of months.
There is good news on the horizon however, with, all governments across the UK announcing plans to ease lockdown rules. In response to this, Dulas is pleased to announce a staged plan to increase project work across the nations.
As the summer has progressed, we’ve been better able to reach more and more of our customers. July has seen us expand our provision of O&M operations, and we’ve also undertaken more site surveys and installation projects across England and Wales. And, as Holyrood looks set to liberate Scotland’s workforces further, we look forward to working towards full operations over the next couple of months.
Dulas projects often include essential infrastructure work relating to the supply of water or electricity, so for that reason, we’ve been able to continue working with some of our clients throughout lockdown. However, some non-essential projects have understandably been ‘put on ice’ for the past couple of months, and we look forward to resuming those at the earliest opportunity, and to meeting clients that we haven’t seen since the springtime.
As is always the case, Dulas is extremely health-and-safety conscious, and we have put strict measures in place to satisfy the respective governing bodies of the UK, alongside ensuring the rigour of each and every risk assessment. With the necessary precautions in place, some processes will take slightly longer than usual, but we will be able to maintain the quality of work that we are known for, whilst keeping everyone safe.
Given the relaxing of restrictions, our ambition is to resume full operations by August (localised rules permitting), so from the start of the month, we’ll be working through a wide range of met-mast, remote sensing and hydro projects. If COVID-19 has impacted your project plans, talk to us today and we’ll help you to get things back on track. Our office-based staff continue to work from home with all possible systems and data available to them, so whatever your query, we are fully able to help.
We’ll continue to amend our approach as and when any new legislation emerges or new restrictions are announced. Whatever your project requirement, and regardless of your location, you can rest assured that we are thinking ahead on your behalf. All of our project teams take the threat of COVID-19 incredibly seriously, and we will do all we can to stay abreast of the news and to incorporate recommended practices into our health and safety plans.
It’s energising to see the country getting back to work, and it’s exciting to see new renewables projects across the UK finally getting the green light to move forward. It’s been a tricky few months for everybody, but things are evidently moving in the right direction and we look forward to returning to doing what we love, and what we do best.
We’ll post regular updates as and when our approach to the pandemic needs to be amended, but for now, we are ready to go and we look forward to seeing you soon!
