Dulas’s Managing Director Ruth Chapman and Commercial Lead Catherine McLennan
The UK life sciences industry is a vibrant, ambitious and life-saving sector and one that we’re very proud to be a part of. Did you know that the UK is rated 3rd globally for investment in life sciences? UK life sciences exports improve and save lives all over the world. Dulas was recently featured as a case study in the Department for International Trade’s report, ‘Life Sciences: What’s next for this top UK sector?’. The case study highlights our work helping to tackle the COVID pandemic by delivering vaccine refrigerators and freezers to some of the hardest to reach communities across the world.
The report looks at the trade and investment position of the life sciences sector now, and how its future growth might be supported. The report was launched by President of the Board of Trade and trade secretary Kemi Badenoch at the Board of Trade in Cardiff on 28th November. Dulas was invited to present to the UK Trade Board, and we were able to showcase our innovative products.
Welsh life sciences companies employ more than 12,000 people and generate £2.5bn in turnover across 270 sites. Kemi Badenoch commented: “Whether it is inventing new ways to combat cancer, diagnose disease or simplify surgery, Wales is critical to our life sciences sector.”
Thanks to the support we have received from the DIT, we can trade around the world and showcase our UK manufactured WHO-accredited products to a global audience.
